Unhappy

What is the rated HP on the 02 Pro-X Fans? what are the best mods for the engine? I was thinking of pulling the air box and using K&N filters and installing V-Force reeds and maybe twin pipes.Good idea or Bad idea?

As far as pipes I don't believe anyone makes them but your best bet on that would be Hot Seat Perf as far as reeds this is not your conventional reedvalve motor as the reeds are between the case and the head "reed valve assist" .As far as the air box the box was tuned for the aplication and removing it would not gain much.The 02 prox fan has been reported to be much quicker out of the box than a well tuned and clutched 01.Make sure it has the updated CDI or you will be putting pistons in it garenteed.
* *GOOD LUCK

Some of the prox fans from 02 came with CDI boxes that were misprogramed too hot from the factory and if you drove them at speeds for too long you would hole a piston.Polaris recomended that you do not drive it till you had it checked and if you had the hot box send it to Polaris and have it reprogramed.I can't remember what designation to look for on the boxes so check with your dealer and if he don't know contact a know polaris race dealer and they will tell you.One dealer to call would be MAYPORT POLARIS in ND 1-701-786-4120. They also race and might have some setup advice for you Talk to Terry.Also if you are into custom mountain Polarises He builds them and they all out rock.
