TOP E is being rerouted east of the railbed in the L'Amable/Gilmour area. I noticed the OFSC fold out map differed from the OSM map atlas & the CESAR & SCSA maps. When I was out riding Sunday the signage was the same as last year. I emailed the Old Hastings club & got this reply:

Quote:
Hi, Kris the CEASAR map right now is correct, however we are rerouting the E trail to make it better which is what is showing on the TOP trail map, right now we are awaiting permits from the MNR and hopefully we will have the new trail complete this month in any case the old trail will still be there as far as I know for this year.

Hope this helps, we will put a note on the website when it does change.[/b]

This is the existing route. It doesn't appear any quicker coming from the west. You just ride north rather than south before heading east.

I barely ever used that old section. Where does the new route go now, looks like the spruce lake trail? If so it will definitely be MUCH faster. I hope they don't plow the road, I looped around there a few weeks ago on the quad and they had plowed much further east than they used to. Lots of logging happening along there.

Thumbs up

Does anyone know if this change will be ready for this season?

If the lakes are safe, we'll just run Limerick & Mephisto to get to the air strip.

Got back from hunting camp .Old E trail goes across our property. All Etrail signs still up. No one has removed them. I wonder if club will still groom this section of trail if the north reroute takes place. Tjis section is used a lot by folks doing loops in the area. Hopefully we can get some news from the club.
