I have a big paint chip on my lower A-arm (06 Polaris). It is rusting a bit - anyone have a good tip on repair? I don't care cosmetically, if I did I'd go get a touch up kit. They never seem to stick very well anyway... does a little roof tar stick? Or is it too brittle in the cold. I'm mainly concerned with stopping the rust.

take them both off and have them powder coated. powder is a lot stronger than paint. Usually they sand blast before the process, so your rust would be gone. If you dont have somewhere locally that does powder coating shoot me a pm and we might be able to work something out where you send them to me and I take them to our local place. They do really good work.

If you have any spray type chain/cable lube around (not the graphite based crap, it's too messy), I've never found anything that works any better for what you want to do. It penetrates, then the carrier evaporates leaving a coat of parrafin or something embeded firmly in the pores of the rust/metal. Awesome stuff for protecting threads, rustproofing......

What he said! If you are going to do something, do it right they say. Cosmetics is important, specailly at re-sale...and it's only an 06.
I'd powder coat them in a custom colour. Something that matches your ride, but different then all the other sleds that came off the same line.
