Thumbs up

Hey Guys,
Last weekend I torn a strip out of my track and now I have to replace it.

I found a used one. My question is, I have never torn apart a chaincase with Mechanical Reverse.

I'm sure I could figure it out but if some one has experience I would like advise.

Let me know of any tips and tricks.

Thanks

It's really not bad ,I had the wifes formula tore down a few years back. All you need to do is un-hook the linkage on the outside of the case. On the inside there's a few extra parts (gears, springs, and fork lever) on the bottom gear. If I remember right the fork thingy that shifts it into reverse is in behind the one gear to slide it in place or viseversa(dont remember), also in the bottom gear assy there's a spring to watch for and watch how the gears line up when dis-assy.
You can go to a ski-doo parts finder and pull up the fish for it and see all the guts inside .You might have to use the formula or 01 models to find the machanical reverse chaincase since it was a std on some models and a opt on others not to mention this era(01-02) the rer was starting to show up .

Good idea is to take a pic of the inside before you start pulling things out , then you have a referance to re assemble. When the cover comes off the fork thingy is attach to it .

When I did mine it was the 1st time I dug into one and I didnt have any problems, fairlly simple just pay attn to the lower gear assy.
