I have a 01' MXZ X 800 with the Piggy Back front shocks and studded track. The front end does not handle at all. It floats and I have a hell of a time when in someone else's track. Does any one else have this problem or how did you fix it? :slick:

Where is you limiter strap adjusted to? if its too tight it WILL put too much pressure on the skis and make it dart all over. Mine used to dart all over but i managed, i ended up finding a set of precision skiis on ebay, not the pilot but the precesion skis from 02-06 skidoo sleds, the ones with carbide on each side of the ski, that really made a difference this year, i also took off the stock track and put a 1.25 track on it, that helped too! (not trying to get personal here...) how much do you weigh? i am about 200, and my sled handles like a dream. if interested i can give you my whole sus. set up and you can go from there?

when you mention "the front end floats" what do you mean? where do you have your front springs tighted to?

When I say flaoting, I am CONSTANTLY fighting the sled to keep it in a straight line. It wants to follow the line of the sled in front of me. I weigh 290 and the rear suspension is at it's highest setting. Even when my brother in law rides it, the skiis do not make a "wake" when he rides it and he weighs about 220. I will check the limiter strap... I would love to get your set up. My wife has the same sled but w/ pilot skiis with the dual carbides & it handles like a FERRARI!

well, you deffinetly have a few lbs. on me but that 800 has plenty of snort!!
I am afraid my setup wont be as good for you....weight reasons! sorry!! but i have my limiter 1 hole from the end, my rear springs are 1 up from the softet setting and my front shocks are only at line #1, are you bottoming out a lot too?

the different skis are going to make a HUGE difference, like i said mine used to (float) dart behind sleds tracks all the time, after i put those precision skis on i duno how i rode without them!!!!

If your having probs with the sled bottoming out bad i have the actual MXZX 440 sno-cross springs, not installed, but i had them on and it made the sled for me ride pretty rough, but may be better for you? dunno. just a thought.

you could also "steal" your wifes skiis and give that a shot, you may just have to go out and get a set for you too? or make her buy her own? haha jk

your front shock of your rear suspension could be fried. it may be blown out or maybe theres just not enough preload dialed in. you mentioned your rear suspension was adjusted all the way up , thats the front shock too right? i wouldnt jump to new ski`s yet. i beleive ski doo has optional springs and or shocks for larger riders and i `m willing to bet the real solution is there. the ski`s that came with your sled really arent that bad.
