my 2002 mxz 800 is very hard to start when hot(15 to 20 pulls),but starts great when cold(2 pulls) any suggestion, could there be fuel vapor lock and what should i do about it. thanks for any help.
As Crockett mentioned make sure the heater switch to the carbs is shut off. It is the red switch , easy to find. I find that all of our ZX's need just a wee squeeze on the throttle when starting when warm. They start every time that way for us here.
went for my first big ride since last post. did about a 2hrs drive without shutting down the sled. tried to restart it and it never started, add to wait almost 1hr to finally get it to run and it runs great until i shut it down when hot.was running great after 2hr run until i shut it down. what could be the problem, there is spark to the plugs.thanks.
The reed cages are notorious for delamination. That will make for hard starts, not sure why it wouldnt start for an hour unless flooded or dirty carbs.
