the light on my 77 elan is dim so i am going to change out the lighting coil to see if that helps. I have a extra in a box but i have to clue on how to change the coil or wich one it on the stator. I am not syre if i want to do this i hate messing with the wiring. I know some on the forum has done this befor could you fill me in on how to?..............

i have never change internal coils be fore but its not complecated. you should be able to follow the wires from your wire harness to your coil. I'm not sure but i think its the smaller one.I believe you have to sooder the wires too gether after you change them. how is your spark?? your points could be cleaned or regaped which was the problem on mine. it should be easy to follow the hook up wires to your outer coils to your internal ignition coil. be very gentle with the points.make sure their are timeing lines on your stator and mounting if not make them with a chilse. did you check your voltage regulator??
