Default Parts Compatability

I recently bought a 93' polaris XLT Indy Special , 580 tripple. I would like to get ahold of an extra parts sled. Question is, What year or years of sled would be compatible with mine .
Also, the fella I bought it from said " This is a 2-up sled" , HOW DO I TELL ? Any hints on the serial numbers to verify it's 2 man sled ? New to sledding, purchased to go mainly ice fishing, a bad habit of mine ! Thanks in advance, Mike in Ohio

A two-up sled usually has a back rest and a longer seat, sometimes with hand grips for the passenger. Really, any sled can fit two people if the seat is long enough. Its just that the two-up sleds are more comfortable for the passenger and suspension is sometimes set up stiffer to accommodate for the weight of two people.

its a wedge chasis, anything from the late 80's to mid 90's wedge style sled's will work for parts, not sure what year those particualr wedge started, but 90-95 xlt, rxl, xcr, storm 800 are all similiar chasis. In 96 they started changing but the xcr was the same upto about 97. Keep in mind they did have different engines, the rxl was fuel injected, etc... and some different arms for the rear suspensions, but as complete units they were interchangeable.

you are best to actually check the machine before buying... you cant guarantee everything is 100% compatible

Ya the 2 up is basically a seat that has room for two and its usually noticable. The springs are usually stiffer to in the rear. The parts that will fit then any sled with the same engine and that will have the same engine parts and any sled with the same chassis will haev the same chassis parts. SO your best to get that chassis and then a engine pretty close to the same to probably get the most parts that match.
