Question 1978 Arctic Cat Trail Cat

I'm trying to find information regarding my sled.

I looked beside the VIN and it's recorded as being manufactured in 12/78.

Under the hood reads Series 3000 AF34A1 Bore 60mm Stroke 60mm.

Also, is there a way to search on the internet for a snowmobile VIN?

I would just call AC in thief river,, and ask to get a owners manuel, or a dealer should be able to get ya started on print info.. i remember em. cats first IFS, if i recall, they were either 3000, or 4000 series, fan cooled 1 carb twins, 340 or 440 cc's black with shades of blue decals.... good luck!

Default Trail Cat

What do you need to know? I bought my first one in 1994 and have three that I'm in the process of restoring.

I really wanting to know everything about the sled, speed, power, oil to use, what the hell the ignition is for (other than on and off, or maybe it's that simple), etc.

A manual would be nice too. I was partially confused when I looked near the VIN and saw 1978 when the earliest of these models were made I believe in 1979. I look at the registration and it says 1979.

Thanks!

With to production date of 12-78 that would be a 79 model. I beleive the production date for the year start 8th month.
