To remove the skid on a 2001 with the edge suspension, the two rear bolts, Is there a special wrench to remove this? I'm talking about the wrench needed to go between the upper rear idler and the tunnel to remove the rear bolts. What size is it? Does someone make a special thin wrench to fit in there or has anyone made there own by grinding it down real thin? Any suggestions? Thanks. ??? SWRules

Hey there,

Not sure about the specific spot your trying to get into but....

Sears/Craftsman makes a pretty good set of "tappet" wrenches, open end with a thin cross section and I have a set. I only use them for those tight spots and find them on my bench after working on a project often. It may be worth a stop at you local place see if they have them.

I just use a channel lock pliers and haven't had a problem th elast three years with this. Was leery at first but the bolt came out fine.

There is a special tool that Polaris dealers should be able to order for you. It is a slim wrench that angles at about 75 degrees and allows you to access the boss. Takes seconds to extract the two bolts with the tool installed.
