Default 1990 cougar no rpms

My wife owns a cougar 500 1990 I found issues this summer and rebuilt the carbs, now the rpms will come up to about 3000 and stall. The clutch comes in but can not get the sled moving, do I need to tune the carbs more I'm not sure with the track off the ground clutch works fine any ideas

Sounds like maybe when you reasembled the carb's you didn't set the chokes. Be sure there is 1/8 inch play in the choke cable.

What's the best way to check those the cables are crimped on to the adjusting bolts. Is it possible the center seal would cause the same issue ? It starts great

Ok call me dumb but the fuel Valve got shut off, but it has been running the whole so called winter with it off. Now I know its getting it past the choke or primer but I turned on the valve and the filter is still low , can that damage the fuel pump
