Default 96 Skidoo Formula Z 583 Rotax, better for sale ?

I have a 96 Skidoo Formula Z 583 Rotax, I am pretty much stumped on this, In a controlled climent it will idle great and rev up to just about any rpm, but once i take it outside to ride it boggs and dies withing a couple hundred yards and it will then start but will not hold an idle.

I have checked:
1) Drained old fuel and added new fuel.
2) Checked line from tank to fuel pump.
3) Checked vacum line from crank case to fuel pump.
4) Checked for fuel coming out of pump.
5) Checked fuel lines from pump to the carbs.
6) Cleaned the Carbs twice.
7) Installed new plugs.
8) Checked gap on plugs.
9) Checked spark strength and color.
10) Checked air box for restrictions.

Any Idea what else I could check or what it might be? would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

Interesting problem. I could be wrong but when you say "In a controlled climate" you mean in a garage with the track lifted off the ground? If this is the case then it sounds like the motor runs fine when there is no load on the motor. When you take it outside you are loading down the motor to move around. If this is all true then there are a couple of things that come to mind.

1. Check the compression of your cylinders and make sure they are all the same.
2. If the compression is the same across all your cylinders, then it would seem that the carbs are out of adjustment. Float could be sticking, needle could be out of adjustment, air/fuel mixture screws out of adjustment. Just becuase the carbs have been cleaned doesn't mean that they are setup correctly. With no load on the motor it will run ok if the carbs are out of wack some.

Those are just a couple of things I can think of without going to much farther with testing. If 1 & 2 are good then you really have no choice but to do a leak test.

Hope this helps.

Are your plugs wet when it stalls under load? My formula III had a bad wrist pin that made it act like that but I got farther out of it ( three cylinders) before it choked...

Well could be alot of things but first thing I would check is the fuel pickup in the gas tank. If it fell off and you have little gas in the tank youll get a bog shortly after accelerating.
