polaris clutching
Question,
I have both the OEM polaris button clutch and the Team roller clutch. I am installing a XCR800 in an edge chassis. The track will be probably a 1 " ripsaw style. I have 10 tooth drive gear ( trying to get rolling resistance down) And the chaincase is a late style Phathom style brake in a 2002 xcsp chassis.
Which style clutch is better suited for my application? ( trail to aggressive trail.) This is a GREAT SITE !!

I know others are going to state their opinions .. Id say, stay with the button style. Try HSP 52/36S for that application. Anyone? WL.

there both real good clutches, tried and tested and true.the roller is toward the friction free environment and a slight increase in spring pressure might be needed.when you want to change helix angle you have to consider a few things
- a higher start angle will give better acceleration
- a smaller start angle will be opposite
-what i do is have a slight over rev at start, and this contributes to a short flash, which in turn adds to acceleration

R8's has a longer 50* starting angle than R32's - so if youre to drag race, R8 would be the best for quicker upshift and R32s would be more tune for an aggressive trail riding (better backshift) WL
