I recently was given a 1984 panther that has been sitting in the weather for several years. I am new to snowmobiling. It has poor or no spark and I am 90% sure it is the cd unit. I was also thinking of running premix. Is this a good idea? How do I bypass oil injection? Is there any other parts that need to be oiled? Sorry for all the questions! Thanks in advance.
Before you get a new CDI you should try unplugging the 4 wire connector down by the CDI box and put a jumper wire between the black and brown wire (on the motor side of the plug). Check your spark and if it is good then you are having switch problems. Sitting out in the weather with no cover is hard on the kill/ ignition switches.
