Default Stator Question.

I'm trying to figure out a electrical problem and need to figure out how a stator works.

I know the basics of what it does but are the coils on the stator separated. Lighting coils, ignition coils and charging coils?

I have 6 wires coming from my stator the yellow wires I'm assuming are charging coils which I have no battery so they must be obsolete.

The other 4. Two for ignition and Two for lighting ?
Is that how a stator works ?

If this is the case is it possible for just one part of the stator to fry. Like just the ignition coils ?

Default stator

your stator will have a coil or a couple for lights and accesories ( the ones with the thicker wire ) then you will have a high speed coil and a low speed coil (these ones are a very small tightly wound wire ). Its definatly possible to burn out 1 coil as i did it last year . hope this helps a little
