I am a wisconsin rider as well. I hope south central gets some snow this year, as last year really stunk. Two of our three are good to go. The third, well, I am stumped and have a queery on forum. Good riding!

Got up north last weekend, got 6 out 6 sleds running, greased and cleaned. '95 Touring needs regristration,'07 Freestyle needs a new left(roadside) ski and carbides. Picked up ski and carbides yesterday to put on next week. After that I got to get the vintage stuff up north running. May cut one from the herd up there,'91 El-Tigre EXT, I only put 6 miles on it last year,it's just the wife and I riding this year, son moved to Florida to finish Grad school. hotdoo

I need more time with mine. Here is what she looks like right now:
She is getting there though - this is what she looked like a couple of weeks ago...
The main job was to replace the e-module (darn stumps!) but I did a WHOLE lot of smaller maintenance items while in there. Another weekend or two and she should be all back together again!

I hit a stump and broke the frame piece that holds the engine (that is why in the second picture the engine is hanging from the rafters - I was replacing the part directly under it). I took off the minimum needed to get to it... Most quotes I have heard from dealers to do this are around $3500 labor + parts. So far I am into it for about $500 (thank you e-bay!) and a whole lot of time.
The oil cable was also frayed (over 1/2 gone) and the pump is UNDER the engine. The shop manual (I don't care how much the dealer charges - best investment ever in the sled!) says the first step is lift the engine 3". Of course you need to take off a lot of 'stuff' above the engine before this is possible.
Since I was this far into it I decided to check everything I could think of on the way in and back out again. New bearings, replace coolant, clutches rebuilt, clean/check raves, loose rivets replaced with bolts, check some service bulletin items, etc. Should be almost a new sled by the time I am done!
If I had known what I was getting into I don't know if I would have done it...
