Talking Wanna make my exhaust louder and sound better

Does anyone have any ideas on how to make my exhaust sound louder and better? I have a 95 xcr 600 with stock exhaust. I wanna make it sounds better. Could I take a drill bit and drill holes it? Take out the baffles? I dont wanna buy a 300 dollor can, i just dont have that type of money. Thanks for your help everyone

Sometimes louder isn't better.

A lot of people, put headers on and then can't wait to go back to stock.

Remove the packing in the stock can. Wont give you any more power it may rob it of power. If you want it loader get a set of pipes and can for it and rejet the carbs and clutching.

take off the hood , remove the pipe from the muffler . rotate the pipe until the outlet is right between the two grips on the bars , stretch springs to hold in place . you are now done , go for a ride

I was going to suggest running a tube from the muffler outlet pipe into his helmet but was afraid someone might take it literally and actually do it...

Just take the pipe off and be done with it. Now youll have a bunch of extra exhaust springs you can attach use as dangling earings
. I see your from Maine. I dont think the property owners on the ITS trails will appreciate that loud sled. Keep it stock

same here put a dg can on my rxl last yr sounded good but cops dont like that around here plus in my opinion nothing sounds better than a good running tripple with stock pipes
