Hi Ski-Doo men!

have you tried a driven preload of 25 to 30 lbs to run drive belt colder? If so do you result in a longer drive belt life?

I use to run my 96 mach z at to 22 to 25 lbs for grass racing with a very large helix, Im pretty sure it would get way out of the power band(over-rev) after 4 or 5 hundred feet though. Are you havine belt problems??? You should buy yourself an alignment gauge like the one that sled pro sells, dealer prep or factory install was way off and they go a little out of alignment all the time.

Hi john breedon,
thank you for your help! I have the factory alignment tool! Regulary use it to check pulleys alignment. But belt after belt(500 to 1200 milles) the belts do some cords breaks on the moblile side of TRA,and after the top of the strap strip front the cog side! I thing it is because belt slipping because my alignment is OK with factory alingment tool.I try to give a more large gap on the front side of tra (0.018") but it seem to do nothing on drive belt life!!!

Take care Z36Qc

Go with the 067 belt and check center to center, secondary shimming, and make sure center align ment bolt/rod is snug and not gone or broke. I have drag raced and tested on same belt for 3 years. Incredible .

I run C-4 [26#] it is the only way I can keep the belt from slipping.
I have tried all kinds of helix angles, lower poundges, gearing and different belt compounds and I allways go back to the higher pounds.
So far C-4, 2 gear drop, and a 066 belt have been the best combo for a cool clutch and getting power to the ground for me.

I used 26 lb on my 96 fss w/ a goodwin roller secondary 9000 trouble free miles excellent belt life and back shift, I bought the 1/2 clutch and saved my stock 1/2 just in case.
