My brother in law is looking at a 98 Grand touring 583 with 10,000 kms on it for $4200. Cdn . Being a Polaris fan I don't know all the good and bads of this model and engine. Do you guys have any sugestions what to look for ( other than the regular stuff ) ? All I know is it has had one previous owner and was well cared for .
Thanks folks

Well, I love my 99 GT. I would think the 98 would be a nice sled also.
But that price seems a little high to me for 10,000km.

Last year I paid $5200 for my 99' 700 triple with 2300km on it. I would do a search on Auto Trader to get some good comparison prices.

The 98 ck3s chassies where not that good , lots of wiring problems , but that one you are looking at is a good sled. I own a 98 form 500 with 6300 miles [switch the speedo over to miles when new] and is solid performer. The only complaint I have is they don't handle as good as the rest of them. But if your useing for touring , who cares there compfy sled designed to travel high miles. With the 583 cc motor, you will not be in the back of the pack. I travel with my form 500 [I got a long track and back rack] on it, and am able to run away from a xlt600 touring with it! So a 583 should be a little better!
