Hyfax is another term for slider. Where that name comes from is beyond me...

Anybody else?

OK go and look in the general snowmobiling forum, there are a couple of active topics about this. Hyfax aka slides are mounted on the bottom of your rails and ride on the track clips. Check out those couple topics and that should be able to fill you in.

They go by many names, but they all serve the same purpose-- they reduce friction between your rails and your track. They are made of plastic and as said above mount to your rails in your rear suspension and this is where the metal track clips ride. They need snow to keep them lubricated and cool--if not, the can melt to your track clips at worst and prematurely wear out at best. Hope this helps.--Bleedin'

I think hyfax is a name brand of sliders kinda funny how the brand get confused with what it is like jet ski's when the correct term is personal water craft, jet ski is a model of kawasaki's pwc.

Much like people calling this sport 'Ski-Dooing'...when it's really Snowmobiling or sledding.

Don't forget Snowmachining EH!

I was thinking that Hyfax was a kind of plastic like uhmwpe, or RIM.
