Unhappy

Called CAT customer service yesturday, thanks to the number provided by snowmobileworld.com. *They told me that they have heard of the problem and are in the process of figuring out what to do. *They currently do not have a direct replacement to correct the situation. *My sled(2001 ZR600 EFI) is out of the manufacturers warranty and is currently under "Aftercare", I hope they cover the replacement of my current valves until Arctic Cat comes out with a recall and replacement for the smart valves. *The valves cost about $40 a piece U.S. plus labor of course. *I know that even the newest sleds aren't free of all problems, but with less than 100 miles on it I feel I shouldn't have to nickle and dime the damn thing. *This is my first brand new sled and first CAT. *I decided that making resonable monthly payments($99/month) was better than nickle and diming a less than new sled. *I'll be damned if I'm going to both make payments and pour money into this sled. *I'm not bashing CAT I'm just a little frustrated and it doesn't help that it's my first CAT.

This was a previous posting:

Ok i have 2 2002 zl800's and the same thing happened to me last weekend on bolth sleds. went for a ride the day before and it was raining & 40 deg, the next morning when i started them up it was -5 deg. they would bolth idle then would bog when i grabbed some throttle, feathering the throttle i was able to get it going (i assumed i had some ice in the gas from the rain) took a little 1 mile ride when i came back the other sled was fine after it warmed up. but the one i rode took another mile or so before it too "fixed" it's self. my thoughts were some kind of warm-up saftey to protect against cold seizure. but really felt like it was starving for fuel

these machines have appox. 300 miles heading to "The forks, ME" 250 miles this weekend hopefully.
wish me luck!

I have 466 miles on my 02 ZR 600 and so far have not encountered any problems other than the ignition switch getting lose and shutting off the sled, and my left handwarmer died on me. *I guess I need more snow so I can put some real miles on the sled and see if she keeps running strong.

I just talked to my dealer about this problem yesterday seeing as how this happened twice to me. The first time the pump went, He had heard nothing about the problem. Yesterday he told me that there is a bunch of garbage in the tank(powder, filings, gunk) and this glogs the so called SMART VALVE and overloads the pump. I really don't care what the problem is, just fix it already

your lucky snow dust isn't fatning, cause your gonna be eatin alot of it!!!!!

Just got this from another form.
</span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">I&#39;m happy to report that Arctic Cat made this issue right--good on them!

EFI owners, go to your Cat dealer and ask for the Service Announcement on this issue. If they plead stupid don&#39;t let them feed you Kitty Litter anymore. Tell them to pull their head out and look up number SAS206 to see if your machine is effected.

Also, don&#39;t buy in to any work arounds--READ SAS206!

If they don&#39;t have a clue on SAS206--shame on them for not keeping up on important issues
