94 EXT 580 electrical problem

Last winter my sled's fuel pump stopped working. After putting a new battery in this year it still wouldnt kick in. After trying the key a few times it kicked in but I smelt smoke and then a loud pop and spark from the electrical plugs in the wires leading to what I take it as crank case position sensors. After that now the fuel pump kicks in when you first turn the key on but not after pulling it and it wont fire. Im guessing some kind of short but I'm not sure where.

Also last winter I was using the electrical relays off of my other sled until I was able to find some for this one. I got the relays from a salvage yard I dont know if those could have caused that short. I put them in my other sled and it ran fine though. Anyone have any ideas? I tried the sports shops and no one here will even look at it.

You really need to run the entire list of tests on the fuel system (inc electrical) to see if anything shows up first. I have a manual that covers your model. If you want a copy, post here.

Could I get a copy of that as well? I am having similar problems with my EFI Wildcat. Thanks.

Thanks for the manual. I'll check it out and see what I can find.
