I have an '00 MM 700. While idleing after it's warmed-up, there is a high-pitched whining or "screaching" similar to a belt going out on a car. Anyone experienced this before and is there something I can do to fix it?
Sounds like the belt has been glazed. Clean your clutches, and maybe you can save the belt try cleaning it and scrubbing the side with a scotch brite pad, if not get a new belt. Also check clutch alignment and center distance.
If it is a oem belt and you check your clutch alignment there are three bolts with washer. By remove these may quiet these noise. My SRX700 had a noise in the secondary and by removing the washer quiet my clutch. This something to try. Let me know if this works. :hallo1:
It sounds like your primary clutch faces are glazed . Clean them off with a green scotch pad, works great ! And remember you do have a water pump belt and just make sure you note what side the noise is on.
