You will love all the updates, and new chassis, however, your old 97 big block will walk the new twin quite easily,, on the lakes that is, or high speed road running,
every where else though the new one should be fabulous!!

SnowBLown, what year zert did you race, and what was the distance and top speeds achieved?  Just curious.
Not calling you a liar, but it seems odd that you beat him in top end.  I can see you taking it on low end quit easily off the line and even all the way up to 100mph, but after that I would think the triple would start to catch up and walk away...

Again, to many variables here. I'll bet ANY money that someone did his own clutching or had a black magic clutch kit on the zrt800. Something was wrong with the setup no doubt.

There is no way in hell that a properly clutched and set up zrt800 will lose to a zr800 PERIOD!

Don't assume that just because you beat one sled that your zr800 will beat all of the zrt800's.

Facts are facts and the zrt800 has more h.p. and runs alot more rpm.

Next thing I'm going to hear is that the zr800 can smoke a thundercat. Well, let me tell you a little information-there is hardly any difference between a zrt800 and a thundercat when the zrt800 is clutched correctly-often times the zrt800 will run right with it and sometimes beat it.

Cant fool me, I know better and have seen and been to MANY races.

hpzrt600 is right I races my friends 00 thundercat with my 97 zrt 800 and we were side buy side to 100mph. He did pull about ten feet buy a 1/2 mile thought. But I was very happy because my sled still needs to be set up. Its totaly stock right from the dealer.

This is always a funny post to read, I have heard many times about twin 700 and 800's beating T-Cats and ZRT 800's...........PLEASE I do not have the fastest T-Cats around but since 95 none of my triples (800/1000's) have been beaten by a twin. A mach yes, but a ZR 800 HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!!! Any guy that has a T-Cat that gets beat my a 800 twin is a moron with a wrench. I raced a 800 RMK today and absolutely killed it, and I'm over reving for my altitude buy about 1200 rpm........

I'd love to get into a pissing match with you but i seriously don't think Marv Jorgenson(Chopper City Sports) is a moron! Yes I have gotten beat by a t-cat but if you buy a clutch kit in a box I would bet I would give you a run for your money.Anyway thats the way it worked out that day.My buddy with his zr800 has the same pipe,v-force reeds, speedwerx head,44mm carbs ,ported cylinders, mtn cat cdi box,and that's just the stuff I know of, is also scrathing his head,it's all in the clutching!

There is no way a stock 800 twin could race with a 800 triple if the race is in a straite line.

I hear a lot of people saying the twins can take it of the line and you may be right.  But when i see a mxz 800 take of its nothing compaired to my mach triple.  I have raced a 800 of the line and beaten it start to finish.

I would even go to say that a so so tuned zrt 800 would still beat a zr800.

TRIPLES RULE IN ANY SITUATION.  THEY JUST COST MORE TO MAKE..
