Not a bad machine compared to others in it's generation. First thing I would do would be to junk the rear suspension, unless you don't plan on riding any trails. M-10, or used Extra-10, depending on your budget, would be the suspensions of choice. Engine has plenty of muscle as is, will not stand up to current gen. machines though. Still plenty fast enough. Can't think of any known issues, they were pretty good sleds. Should last your buddy a long time.

I've got a '95 and I believe the 94 is the same sled.

It has plenty of power when compared to sleds the same age, although newer sleds are much better.

Mine has been reliable as ####, only minor problems (bad voltage regulator and brake relay)  It will start on the 1st or 2nd pull even at minus 40.

It is a bit heavy so make sure you stay on the gas.

As mentioned, the suspension is the low point, I am going to update mine to an Xtra-12 this summer.

Got one just like it, fun right thumb workings
There was a piston update that I think was warranty that MUST be done, the '94 piston skirts break.  Also, good luck with the lower radius rod mounts, keep them TIGHT.  The Goodwin clutch kit works great.  Put the '95 jetting in it.  Get some suspension for it!
