I just picked up a 1997 MXZ 670, and it seems to have a weird noise coming from the engine? I was wondering what it would sound like if one of the needle bearings was going out on it? It was 120 psi of compression (after warmed up) in each cylinder. I would like any input on anything I should watch out for on this engine. I Had a 1996 F-III, and after two engines....crank bearings both times, I decided to quit buying engines for it, and picked this sled up cheap! Thanks again!

what kind of sound are you hearing? I have a 670 that I believe is in good working order...

the sound is hard to explain. It sounds as metal is rubbing against something...it seems like it is mostly out of the mag side cylinder? Maybe it is the RV....maybe I am just hearing things! I just wondered if I would tear it down and look, or just ride her as she is? I am still looking foreward to the snow though!

could it be the exhaust heat shield rattling on the pipe?
