my zl 500 bogs really bad when you go full throttle from a stand still until 6500-7000 then it takes off. Runs great at idle but noticed one cylinder is running cool at idle and normal at high rpm I can't figure it out need help thanks
Carbs or efi. First thing to check would be the throttle safety switch. Under the handlebar foam by the throttle block is a 3 prong connector, unpluging it will disable it along with the kill switch. If this cures it, you need to replace the plastic washers on the throttle block. If its Carb, you can just unplug the wires at the carb. If its a carb sled, Sounds like you have dirty or plugged pilot jets in one or both carbs. One cylinder cooler, running fine after your out of the pilot circut. Take them off and inspect and clean. Also look for cracks in your intake boots, may be sucking air causing a lean bog.
