hey,

My Xc has the left section of the torsion bar broken off. I have all the new gear to change it, right down to the rivets. Does this require engine removal, or can i just slide it in once i drill out the old torsion bushings?

Thanks, as usual, for the great advice!

ya, sway bar, torsion bar..... tomatoe... toemato
I changed one in my xc 600 (gen 2 style) without taking it out...just had to drill out the rivets in the inside bushing and slide the old bushings off. Check out the rivet holes in the chasis... had to drill them to 1/4 inch and install larger rivets. There was a little slack in the rivets which caused the bushing to keep splitting.
