My 2001 zx 600 is haveing problems with the idle. Stopped at local dealer and they said that there has been a big problem on 2001 with the slides sticking and wanting to stay ideled up. Sounds like should be a recall. Just wanted to see how many other sleds were doing this.

All our 02's idle high. There is no inbetween with idle adjustment. Idle high, easy to start , adjust to idle low and its hard to start.   But really, how much time do we spend idling anyways.   I just wait a few seconds after stopping and give it a wee blip.  It usually drops right down to 1700rpm.   My mechanic says they are only carbs do you want me to set them up to go fast or to idle good?

All of the guys I ride with that have the series 3 motors idle high at first then settle down to where they need to be.  If you are concerned about the high idle give it a little choke to bring it back down.  But if it settles down after warming up or choking it is fine.  This is a normal operating procedure.
