Hey out there, glad the snowmobile season is finally here! I bought a 2001 Z440 last year and put 1700 miles on it last season. I know its not the fastest in a straight line race across a lake, but it does excellent in cross country races-in ditches etc. I love its acceleration, handling, suspension, and just about everything, BUT, i want more top end and horsepower. So im asking, what are some descent mods i can do without spending alot of money?? maybe not even spending any money at all, just little things i can do to the motor, thanks!!

Probably the best thing to do is make sure the jetting and clutching is right on. Belt in good shape, and properly adjusted. Track not too tight. All these will rob performance. Not good when you don't have tons of power to start with! I've read that Black Magic's porting on the Z440 wakes it up pretty good. The cost is about $400 though. Good luck and have fun.
