I purchased a 2002 summit 800 about four months ago. This weekend, I was riding and about every third or fourth time I shut the sled off and went to start it again, it wouldn't start right away. I had to move the D.E.S.S. key around a few times before it would start. Then, once I got it started, I had to feather the throttle for a a little bit, before the RPM's would be high enough to move the sled. Once I get it going good, it runs awsome. Is this something that can be fixed by re-programing the DESS or whats the deal???????????? Any advice would be great.
it is probly vibrations i have trouble with my hand/thumb heater switches from vibrations how long does yours sit after shutting off, i have trouble starting it after bout 5-10 min but after that its fine
my sled does the same thing!!!!!!!!!
I thought that it was just my sled but it must be a common problem.
It almost seems as though the rev limiter is on and the light flashes on the display?
Wiggle the key and you are off. let me know what you come up with that would be a big help.
I used some brake cleaner and a rag to clean the inside of the switch, I then used an eraser to clean the outside point. So far its working great. Thanks for all the help!!!!!!!!!!!!!
