Went for my first ride of the season today. Yeah, it's late for most but it was still -36 C here.
Wound up on the ocean and only one out was a '07 Mach Z. We went 3 times and I got run down 3 times. I didn't expect anything different but, I can dream. Got back to the garage and noticed the right side VES Bellows is in need of changing, messy little puke. Is the latest and greatest still Orange? Mine are the blue ones.

How would you know if your CDI did or didn't get the update? I bought the Sled second hand, and don't know if it was. If it wasn't how is it updated? Take it off and take it to a dealer and they flash the chip, or something?

I have a 1-1/4" Track, Boyseen Reeds, Boost Bottle, Trail Can. Clutchs , Drivers, and Gears are Stock. I would like to gear up, is 26/39 a doable combo? More? Is there a chart online?
Any change to the Clutches recommended?

Thanks for the help.

Hey, Ur CDI should be changed, Also U should change ur jets, mine are at 440. Both were done to my sled by the dealer. Check the Updates page on this website. U can check the numbers on ur CDI with ur dealer. And i think ur right about the gears u want. Something about gear ratios so our sleds need a bigger top and smaller bottom. My gears are 25/40 stock. So u can put on 26/39 without needing a new chain. The best mod for ur buck is SLP single ceramic pipe and ceramic silencer can. Just go to mcbpreformance.com and look at all the optins for ur sled. oh yea and smoke those skiducks. hehehe
I changed the Bellows today on both Power Valves to he new Orange ones. The old one had a crack in it next to the nut disc. Thanks for the advise Hairyness, I'll get the numbers off the CDI and see if someone can tell me something. Next job I have lined up is the Driven Clutch, I've got a Rebuild Kit and a new stock Spring for it. I was wondering about the Helix though, I think there must be a better one for my sled, but I don't know which. I guess I'll work on finding that answer too.
I've been using a Pol Almond Blue Primary, with a 50/34 helix and a new stock secondary spring in #2 posistion with pretty good results. Yes , the SLP pipe and can, along with the air box mod, should be you next consideration. Me likey!
from what i can figure I want at 25/37 that should be good for 130+ at
Gearing = engine speed x sprocket pitch diameter divided by shift ratio x mph x 336
lol, 26
ok, nite

So, I've been informed gears 25/37 with a new 74P chain and 12 ounces of 0W-40 Polaris chaincase oil should be ok for 116.1 mph, as long as the revs stay near 8000, or else some clutch work will be needed. I found the Polaris Service Bulletin on this site for the CDI under the Sled Center Tab, after getting logged off many times because my computer's secutity was set to block all cookies, I finnialy lowered it and got to see it. I then checked my CDI and it hasn't been updated. The Fault is supposed to be lack of top speed engine performance... hence the rundowns by other sleds my machine suffers. I called a polaris dealer and they're going to get me the updated PN 4010958-R or what-ever that's been updated to now. Now I'm thinking about getting a new pair of skis... C&A Pro Outlaws with the Stud Boy shapper Bar with 6 inch carbides to start, anybody try/have these? I've got a race with a 900 Fusion lined-up for tomorrow night. Yeah, he's got the cubes, but he also out weighs me by allot, the dudes huge.
