Well, thats nice to hear.... I have been wanting a ProX600 for about a year now. When I saw the 03 Arctic Cats (
) I just knew that was the sled for me! Then I heard about using the ProX Chassis and I started thinking that may be the route to go. I'm glad I decided to go with Cat this time, as you do not seem to have good luck with the X600. What I decided to do is on Feb 25 is the Cat show in NH (Bedford) I am goin' to choose & write up the F7 firecat, and NOT place my deposit on it. On April 8 ? is the show in Manchester NH for Polaris.

Nothing new = New Arctic Cat.   Sorry Polaris....the love affair may be over. I have been faithful for 6 yrs, and now its time to stray........unless...................

Well I hope the rumors of polaris buying fast are true, I think it would be a good mix because fast has been working on the a-arms & the reversed engine thing which seems the way to go in the future! and with direct drive in the works at arctic cat the bar is only going to get raised higher!! but dont get me wrong about my Pro-x's I love the sled and I also own a 2001 ZR440 sno-pro and it has had some minor problems! and I know other guys who have the 2002 sno-pro and they have had there share of problems too!!!!!

hey mr xc7 as a rider of polaris sleds since 1986 when i got my first indy trail,i also doubted the brand.so this winter i got a mx-z 600 and to be blunt i'm trading back to a polaris next year, the ski-doois no way shape or form better than my 2000 xc 700 sp,in fact i would say its worse,i just rode a 2002 edge x 800 and it is awesome.things always look better on the other side.but from my experience its not.so just cause these company's come out with this flashy new crap doesn't means its any better and i believe time will prove this.just cause these sleds are good on the track doesn't mean anything .blair morgan said it best after the espn x games.its the rider not the sled.and just cause one guy had trouble doesn't mean a thing i know lots of guys racing these sleds that haven't had a problem

Well I am not ready to jump ship from polaris! But I just hope they shock us the first of march! I just hope they have something up there sleeve (Rather than the pro-x) and that they have better information security than the other brands! or this could be a long summer of wondering what if! If they just stick to the pro-x this year, I would have to bet they will have a late release double a arm radical sled in the works because there snowchecks will not be on par with what doo and cat have comming out

only pictures i've seen the 4-stroke is in the edge chassis, and thats what it will be in for production as well as two up touring sleds,i just rode the new frontier 4-stroke yesterday it was a prototype but i must say its kinda neat.i won't be buying one but maybe if i was 30 years older .it would be a great sled for cruising trails.

Everyone at polaris is prety tight about what is coming out. I know a dealer who is a friend of mine and he says nothing is being let out.  My money is on a direct injection model and lighter sleds. Rummors i've herd are about 30 + lbs lighter on the edge chassis.  That will keep them ahead of the pack for another season.

I hope you are kidding around! if not I hate to say it but I may have to jump brands! I have bought a new sled every year since 95 and I am now looking at the biggest bang for the buck! What manufacture is going to give us their all without holding back! I still Hold out hope for Polaris in 03! The pro x chassis is not enough for me!!!!!!!

yeah this sucks polaris has never really had a fast sled but they have the quality which is good but i want the speed and the better suspension so I think i might have to switch hit this coming up winter and go with the arctic cat that seems to be all around fastest and has a great suspension hopefully polaris suprises us in 03 and comes out with a badd a## sled!!

I'm hoping for direct injection too seeing as how they have it in a watercraft. Better fuel economy and cleaner than 4 strokes. That would be great. A major weight loss would help too.
Anteater, watch it. I'm probably 30 years older than you and I sure am not looking at a 4 stroke trail cruiser yet!!

i don't know about you guys but i think the pro-x chassis is one of the best ,i don't see anything better on the firecat ,you think its better cause its new,not always the case guys,i know what they claim but we'll see .you want the fastest sled, throw a set of larry rugland pipes on a 700 pro-x or what ever it will be and blow the doors off the pos firecat.i also heard possibly a 900cc to 1050cc engine coming .ive been with polaris sleds since 1986.this year i tried a mx-z 600.its garbage i'm going back home to polaris next year.right where i belong.why do you think they been #1 all these years .????they know there sleds .
and as far as the fastest sleds, the 500,600,700,and 800 twins have been some of the fastest sleds in there stock classes its in every magazine.who knows about 2003 but i'm loyal .polaris is the best hands down.some new plastic and a lot of hype from the others new sleds don't mean $hi! to me.

Anteater, what year is the mxZ you are talking about?  I purchased my first Ski-Doo, an 02 600 adrenaline and I think its great and I have owned plenty of Polaris' through the years.  In fact, except for rider position, (the MXZ rides slightly higher) I find the Pro-X and the MX-Z almost identical in handling and feel and acceleration.  Sure there are minor differences but in my opinion, nothing major (as long as you throw out the Polaris brake noise).  My hard core Polaris friends agree.  I've heard that 01 MXZ's and earlier were prone to some ski lift in the corners, but that is not the case with my 02.

I switched brands just to try something new and for the electronic reverse that ski-doo offerred.  If you jump from an 02 Ski-Doo to an 02 Polaris or vice versa, because you think they handle vastly different, I think you will be disappointed.  Im guessing that will hold true for 03 (not including the REV).

I personaly hope that that nxr is just a consept design and never makes it to production because I think it is just homely. When I went to Polaris school they had a one word saying it was KISS( Keep it simple stupid) and I hope they stick to it for lack of long term testing.

ANYSLEDWILLDO,MY MX-Z IS A 2000 AND I HAVE FRIENDS WITH 2002 SKI-DOO'S SO I KNOW THE THINGS ON MY 2000 ARE NO LONGER A PROBLEM ON THE NEW ONE'S.BUT I FEEL MY 2000 XC 700 SP BEING THE SAME YEAR I WANTED TO COMPARE THE SLEDS EQUALLY THE XC IS BY FAR A BETTER SLED IN PERFORMANCE ,HANDLING AND RELIABILITY.IN MY OPINION!THE ONE THING I REALLY LIKE ABOUT THE DOO IS IT FEELS LIGHTER ,BECAUSE IT IS,FOR FOR ALL OUT TRAIL BURNING AND DITCH BANGING I PREFER MY POLARIS.I RODE A 2002 EDGE X AND A 2002 MX-Z X AND I FEEL THEY WERE BOTH GREAT SLEDS AND BOTH DID WHAT THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO DO.BUT FROM MY EXPERIENCE IN BUYING NEW SLEDS I FIND THE SKIDOO'S COST MORE MONEY.BUT ARE IN NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM BETTER SLEDS.THE FIT AND FINISH ON MY MX-Z 600 IN THE ZX CHASSIS IS POOR.HOOD DOESN'T FIT WORTH A CRAP,AND NEITHER DOES MY FRIENDS 2002 MX-ZX.

Anteater, I agree with you about the hood.  Drives me nuts having to check the thing 3 times before taking off to make sure it is on correctly.  I also agree with you about the cost.  I justified the extra $ for the RER and the DPM but heh, I had to rationalize spending more money somehow. Is RER an option for Polaris this year on all sleds?

I also have not experienced what I thought would be total humiliation at the hands of my friends 02 ProX 600's.  In fact, I have not lost a hole shot yet (we haven't had a chance to stretch their legs yet), but I know that is so relative and I may get smoked by them this weekend.  But once again, I can't believe how similar they are.
