The Snowmobile.com Mountain team had a chance to pit the 2013 Arctic Cat M8 Sno Pro, Ski-Doo XM Summit, Polaris Pro RMK 800 and Polaris Pro RMK 600 against each other in a mountain snowmobile shootout.

We asked our test riders to score the sleds in seven different categories and then we added up the totals to find a winner. The results are a little surprising.

Bah, these new sled take all the fun out of it now. The 1960s and 70s riders did all the same stuff but did it on John Deere, Ski Moto, Rupp, Chapperal, Ariens, Sno Jets, and Massy Fergisons. Kids these days just give the gas and go. Sure you can go deeper into the woods faster but that was the adventure. Now if your sled dies, if ever, they need search and rescue to save you. All that knowlege is lost on these yougsters, trailside repairs and recovery that was the key. You met all new people when they stopped to offer help. You had reason for the next drink at the next bar. Heck it was an accomplishment to see how many bars you could hit before your sled would die. Well in Wisconsin anyway.
An really who needs to go 80mph down the trail, you miss all the sights, back when 60 was fast. Yess yess its safer and cleaner, nothing like comming home smelling like 2 cycle and gas on your full snowmobile suit, ski mask and open face helmet. AAHHh well have fun on your turbo charged four strokers with 10" suspension travel, handlebar warmers, and GPS. If you see me on the side of the trail please be kind and lend a hand or at least slow the frigg down so I dont spill my beer.
