is the coolant circulating? if so get the sensor replaced.
I had a 500 XCSP and the same thing happened while it was still under warranty. It is the sensor on the top of the head. Pol had some bad ones that year and replaced a lot of them. Yours may not be bad but I would lay my money on it.My buddy has a 00', 01' or 02' 500 xc/sp with the fuel switch.
On the last ride his temp light came on and the sled went into a
Sort of limp mode. The sled was not actually overheating!
The temp outside was –12f and everything else checked out no coolant leak etc.
Good compression, etc, etc.. He cleaned the valves which actually looked pretty good.
This happened a few times later in the day for absolutely no rhyme or reason.
Needless the dealers are completely useless.
It’s obviously electrical related. Is this a common issue?
What do you guys think?[/b]
