I've seen a few posts asking what impressions anyone has of the new 570 motor.  Let me just say it was well worth the little money I had to pay for two new sleds.  An extreme bang for the buck!  Excellent off the line pull and great upshifts and downshifts.  Plus, the new smart ride suspension took every thing I threw at it and still gave me a "ZL" smooth ride in the chatter bumps.

If you can't get a liquid, get the 570.

I bought a Z570 and I've been on it only once (no snow) but the 8 miles I put on it seemed great!  My first sled and seems like a great deal!  I had to save some pennies for the helmet, jacket, etc...
The color is sharp and the graphics are cool with the checkered flag!  Just waiting for snow to hit!

Got to put a coupla miles on my 570 mc finally.  Not deep snow, 'bout 18-24" wet/crusty, but untracked.  Lots of fun, good power.  Handles rough stuff pretty good too.  Waiting anxiously for lightweight silencer/pipes and other stuff.

I saw a couple of 570's rocking the trails last week. They really move a*s. was talking to a guy who bought one for his wife and said its just as fast as his 500 liquid. One of the snowmobile magazines I just picked up rated it number one out of the fan cooled 500+ sleds. Polaris and doo are still putting steel skis on them to save $$ i guess. Cant wait to get on one... just might trade mine in LOL.

I have about 250 miles on my Z570esr up in Northern NH, and I was pretty happy with it.  Handled some of the bumpy trails without a problem, and the reverse is really handy for women riders or for turning around.  Takes a while to get up to hauling butt speeds, though.  I think the problem is that my other sled is the ZR 600 Cross Country EFI 2002, which really rips.  In two weeks I will be riding with an old buddy who has a Polaris 400(older machine, but liquid), and I am hoping the 570 fan can hang with him.  There is no way it is as fast as a 500.  Still a great machine for the $$.  I also like that the track can be broken loose for high speed aggressive cornering by kicking the back out-helps it keep up with faster machines that hook up better(i.e. the ZR with the 1.25" track, or a studded machine).

Hey Ak New Guy where are you getting the pipes and silencer?I have not been able to find any. I put a 54/48 helix in one of my daughters Z570s and it pulls alot stronger verses stock. I also went down one size in the main jets. I put 37/20 gearing in it also. She can beat four other Z570s, by four sled lengths on a 2000 foot stretch.

I wouldn't hold your breath for any kind of performance pipes. There is no company out there claiming to make or are in the process of making performance pipes.

Biggest reason is you need to get a performance pipe real hot in order to make good power.....the fan sleds need more fuel to keep them running cooler and leaning them out to accomodate a performance pipe would only cause major reliability issues to say the least.

Anyone who has ever piped or seen a piped phazer knows...... and knows how tempremental they are and how easy they are to burn down.  ???

HPZRT, ok, makes sense when ya put it like that.  I wasn't really hoping for alot of HP increase, just wanted to shed a few pounds, but what I've been hearing about aftermarket silencers puts me off that idea a bit anyway.  Anyone know what suzuki engine this is related to, like where we might go for performance parts (other than pipes)?

AKCat, that sounds like a great price...Greatland in Eagle River quoted me $5k last month.  If we don't get more snow, though...will prices come down anymore?

I got a z570 as well and have lots of snow here in Canada. Global warming my ###!

I've put 300 miles on in 4 days...so far so good.  I have the esr version and have topped out at about 85 mph.  Don't think she can go any faster...unless going down a really big hill.  I would bet that the plain z570 can do 90!

Sleds must be cheaper here in Canada cause I got mine for 6000 cdn + taxes, which coverts to 4000 us.  I gotta say for an all around machine this sled rocks.  I have been able to hang with some of my LC buddies too!

Anyways, I was curious as to the gas milage other owners are getting.  Is there any advantage to using fuel with a higher octane than 87?  Can the carbs be adjusted to improve fuel consumption, and if so when?  Also, I have notice a noise/vibration from 20-40 mph when holding the throttle steady...disappears if accelerating.  Anyone else notice this...dealer said its probably the brake vibrating.  Doesn't seem to slow her down though!

Chief,

Ok, I've noticed the "rumble" too.  I thought it was just 'cause I was burning off the break-in tank, and it was running rough being rich.  Seemes worst when running slow after reaching temp, and cleans up when opened up, and when cooled down.  Maybe factory mid-range is too rich (I don't know enough about tuning two strokes to even speculate that far, but that is the first thing that comes to mind...)?  Any new info?

I rode a 570Z this week end put 165miles on it .... I have never been on a A/C before ... I liked it ! It will do 90mph . The sled had 320miles on it not to good on gas though my frend has a 99 XC700 and we got the same mpg ... and the recoil broke on it it started making a funny noise .... Hmmm , but other than that it handled great , and it will smoke a 550 polaris fan even a ZL500 to 80mph .... If it had 40 more hp it would be a perfect sled '' ZR600 ''
