Great board !! I have a 96 XLT Special w/ the xtra 12 w/ 4300 miles. Love the sled, great on trails and power when I need it (no mods). My front shocks are FOX and I'm wondering about a rebuild. I think they probably need it w/ this many miles? Thoughts? Is there anyway to test if I need them rebuilt? How often should they be rebuilt? How much will dealer charge? Thanks for reading. I just had my 95 XLT special with the 12" suspension done, and all four shocks rebuilt. Dealers in upstate NY seem to get $30 to $35 per shock . If you pull the suspension out of it, everyone tells you to look for cracks or hole elongation in the aluminum slide rails. Must have been common on our sleds. Dealer said "every couple years" for rebuild frequency. Good luck!

Should be done every year.

Check out Deycore.com.for info on Fox shock service

I would rebuild them every 2 years. When you have them done, make sure the shafts have no pits in them. I would also have some better seals put in them like the ones from tech-syn.
