Most yet NOT all had bearings overheat/seize

there are guys with 96/97 FIII 600 with over 10,000miles no failure yet other have seized at 2000 or less

I thought those triples all had stator issues as well. Triple=triple trouble, JMO.

Had one (96 FIII) for a few years.

10 000+km 0 engine problem.

Check the bearings (crank I believe) and see if the update was done.

I miss my purple screamer.

(well maybe no the suspension - the 97 had improved this with the sc10 vs c7)

Sled is quite heavy, but had excellent top end.

You can't beat the sound of a triple.

I had a 96 as well and loved every minute of it. I put on the flex skis and made it turn a little better.
Had 13,000 when I traded it a couple of years ago - but started firt pull everytime.

When I bought mine, a number of dealers would tell me that with 6000 ks on it - if the bearings hadn't gone yet, they probably wouldn't.

The thing pulls awesome if you can get it to hook.

Aww.. man I want my screamer back too..

It's coming up from the states with 5000 miles on it. The guy has owned it for 7 years and hasn't had any problems with the bearings, stator. Probably picking it up this weekend

Yup, but certain testers, like the cheap one I have, tend to read on the low side, I've never had anything read over 115-120 on mine, normally around 100-110. Just wanted to let you know.
