Hi, I'm new to snowmobiles and clutching especially. My brother sent me here and told me to read, learn, and to ask this question.... There has been clutch work done but I'm not exactly sure what yet, when I hit the throttle it jumps up to 8000 rpm's and then immediately drops to 7000 where it slooowly climbs back up to 8000. I'm also an inch down in the clutch. Where should I be looking for the cause and remedy?

Thanks

i would first check to see where the belt is riding in the secondary at a standstill, it should be a 1/8 inch over the sheave. is the belt relatively new?...take it off , look at it. gotta start with the basics. next check the secondary spring tension...good luck.
