I'll take an uneducated guess and say
380: 70-75mph 420 pounds
550: 80-88mph 440 pounds
500: 90-95mph 475
depending on state of tune and snow condition i suppose, i think i might be pretty close
some expert will double check me im sure
ski doo fancooled sleds are super light, that's why I wish they had a 550 HO fan racer, maybe next year in a rev, that would be great
I don't know if there's a difference between the speed of the legend and the MXZ, but my legend 500f only tops out at around 75, It still isn't broke in yet and I wouldn't push it yet, it may get better. When we get some snow I'll tell you how fast the new MXZ 500 is.
The 2002 and 2003 MXZ 500 should be faster than the 2000 and 2001, they went from 38mm roundslides to 40mm flatsides. Can't wait for snow to find out!
*meant to say 500f, My guess would be the new 550 should get around 80.
i was just guessing on some of them, but isn't yours the older 500
the new 550 should put out maybe 10 more hp or so, maybe the lower 80's are more accurate
the magazines said is was class leading power i think, plus it has plastic skis, maybe the last years legend did too
My brother n law bought a MXZ 380F w/reverse for my sister and it will only go about 62-65 on a frozen lake, he also had a 1998 FOR. S 380 and it was about the same, nice starter sled, but no rolling punch, not bad though for a 380. just my 2 cents SWRules
