I need a set of 42mm or 44mm carbs and I've seen some 40mm carbs and stuff that have been bored out. I heard that bored carbs are more finicky when you're jetting, is this true? Am I better off just getting some stock carbs to start out with? Just want to know so in case I find any deals on bored carbs, thanks.

Are bored carbs more likely to have the slides leak because there not riding on as much aluminum? Anybody?

lotta apples and oranges out there... i`ve bored carbs that where set up for the sled and there was no tuning issue... now your talking about getting carb thats been bored with a unknown current calibration. if the pre bored carb was stock for your model ok, if not you have to put the stock calibration in and tune from there. were talkin needle tubes, needles, pilots , jets etc.
