I had this problem while riding up north a couple of weeks ago. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem. The first give away that something was not right was when I started it up and it sounded a little muffled. We got to our destination at about 11:30 and unloaded our sleds to go for a ride. We went about ten miles and we were not even riding hard. we were on a road and were only doing about 50 or so. Then I smelled the burning. It was a plastic smell. I shut it down and on the rigtht side of the sled, the exhaust side, flames were coming from under the hood. scared the crap out of me. The canister for the exhaust was bright red for over 5 minutes. I just put enough snow on it so the bellypan would not melt. got it back that night and called the dealer in watersmeet and he told me a baffle had broken and thats why it overheated. He said he's seen this happen once or twice before. bought a new canister and it's been fine. Sorry about the long story, but I thought this would give the guys that have this sled something to look out for.
