I got an old engine that I need to change the crankcase seals in, its a 1978 panther 5000. How exactly do i go about this. Do i pull off the clutch and the flywheel then split the crankcase in half? and do you think that i would be able to reuse the base gaskets in the cylinders? I just put new ones on a few weeks ago. Thanks

Not sure about your particular engine, but if its just the crank seals you might be able to get away with splitting the cases while the cylinders are still bolted to the top half of the case?

I might be able to get away with that... on the carburetor side it might be hard to get at the bolts without taking of the cylinders but i should be able to manage.
