I just got the cd rom for the mxz 700 ,and i'm trying to figure out how to aline the clucthes .the cd rom says open up the secondary and use 3/4 inch by 17 inch straight edge uderstan tha part but they give this weird formual to use and it make know sense I was wonderig does anyone have the numbers as what distances etc. and where to measure from and best method. thanks storm

It's a 3/8" bar and the measurements are taken from the outer edge of the bar to the outer edge of the inner primary sheave. Open the secondary sheaves with your belt removal tool and lay the 3/8 bar in, back off to clamp the bar in place. Buy a cheap small plactic ruler or slide caliper to measure with. The measurement at the rear should be your belt width, the front measurement belt width + 1mm. Another option is to buy a alignment template ($20), but they do not take the belt width differences into account.
