Will magnesium arms work for trail riding on an 800 twin.I want to buy a set but was wondering if anyone has had any advice on clutch set-up.I understand the backshift is poor but i think i can compensate some with my roller secondary.Any advice is well appreciated.

yes, they work. Use about 20-24 grams with 100/170 or 130/200 spring. Don't know who told you they don't backshift? consider a mag with 20 gr pin (47gr) will hold shift rpm about like a alum arm with a solid (54gr). Lighter arms will always backshift better than a heavy, which one do you think will backshift better? Depending on your secondary setup you may have to adjust pin weight a little. The lighter spring mentioned will lower engagement and allow a little more over shift while toolin along, better mpg, when you nail it hang on.
