The stock clutching on my 2001 ZR 500 carb APV seems really good to me. Very quick out of the hole. Are clutch kits that much better than these newer model stock set-ups ??
I doubt it. My friend has an 01 ZR 500 and he stomps all of us out of the hole. My ZL SS 600 EFI, his father's 99 ZR 700 and anybody else that rides with us. That thing hole shots better than any sled I've seen.
Let me guess... probably engages around 4750 or so, right? then from there screams to about 8500 rpm? All the 500's are like that from Cat... .even my little old 500 ZL.... so much for a trail cruiser..... sleeper sled is more like it.....
Your both right on. Out of the hole, the clutching seems to max the engine output. I doubt she would run with your 600 after 80mph. My old ZR580 seemed to cross over 100mph (hard pack of course) with more authority. She truly is an amazing little "sleeper" on the trails.
