The sleds new I have seen as litle as 115 on the 01 and older and tthe 02's without the decompression slot, I have seen as much as 135 psi.
Dooman would be correct. Do a leak down to determine condition.

Dave, he is talking the 700cc engine. The 800 had new 150psi fyi[/b]
correct, I have not seen any 700 with that much. the most I have ever seen (on a 700) is 130 psi. Dave is your zx a 700? mine is. I also have a piped 700 (yes boys blacky is here) in the shop doing the annual work on it.

Thanks Guys. Buying the sled in the U.S. Just want to make sure everything is GTG before I bring it back. This gives ms an idea of what the compression should be.

i`m just gonna put a spin on this... if its a used sled and the price is right if it came down to putting a set of rings in it or pistons its not really a big deal. think about it ..if it was fine now you might put 5 rides on it and then you might need pistons or rings. i guess what i`m sayin is as far as sleddin goes it comes with the territory. pm sent to dooman too...
