I have a question about my 99 500 mxz's oil injection.Last winter I got concerned about the amount of oil the motor was using. At moderate speeds of between 6000 and 7000 rpm's the ratio was in the neighbourhood of 85 and 90 to 1, with the factory specified settings. I then switched to shell ultra synthetic to get a better quality oil in there. The consumption was still the same, so I adjusted the oil pump to where it was now about 45 and 50 to 1. After that I was fouling plugs like crazy and sticking the rave valves quite often. My question is, is the low oil usage the factory setting allows for, an adeqaute amount for this motor. Will this provide enough lubrication for the crank bearings and wrist pin, etc. or is this more to do with decreasing pollution.
