Coolant Problem 1998 Summit

After a long ride I noticed lots of white smoke, low coolant level and poor running. I took the head off and noticed one side was clean as new and green residue on the spark plug. I am sure I am leaking coolant into the head. Question is from where? Head gasket, gasket on the cylinders or worst of all cracked cylinder. Any ideas?

gaskets & seals are cheep, put new ones on then you will know, but if it was the gasket would'nt leak on a short ride to?. I would think all the time.. you should be able to spot a bad gasket.Crash dummy

Well I pulled the jugs off and could not see anything very ovious. I went to put the base gasket on and while trying to slip the cylinders on I cut the new gasket. So I will have to wait till Tuesday to get a new gasket and try to get it back together. Our dealers are all closed on Mondays.

Thanks
