Posting this for a friend who has a 2005 600 SDI who is considering switching over to Amsoil from BRP oil.

He was told today from a guy who rebuilds skidoo engines that he does not recommend Amsoil because the crankshaft bearings (specificaly in the SDI motors) does not hold up well to the high detergent levels in Amsoil.

I have done a search on this topic and have found nothing negative about running Amsoil.

Can anyone shed any light about this. I personally find it hard to believe that the detergent will cause a bearing failure.

news to me. I don't think it is true, but possible I guess.

I have heard the same comments from a few engine builders, but I have no experience running amsoil, or selling it. I will bet some of the ones that sell it will be posting something shortly though.
